Denver Boom

Denver Getting Ready to Boom

I think things are really going to pick up for Denver now. One of the countries largest Builders has been quietly buying up property all over the metro area over the last year and they are opening a lot of new communities. They will have 74 new home communities in Colorado by the end of the year. They have approximately 200 homes breaking ground. That's the new home starts you always hear about when they're talking economy in the news. Those homes don't have offers yet but the builder has reason to believe that Denver metro is going to go gang busters. Apparently so does two other huge national builders because they are opening up new communities too. I haven't heard their numbers yet. When the economy started to tank, these builders all majorly reduced their staffing, stopped building in most communities and hunkered down to wait out the storm. Something is making them think it's time to focus on metro Denver. Denver was the first major city affected by the economy starting back in about 2003 and many economist are pointing to Denver as the first to recover.

Along with the Boom in housing Denver's Local Economy is also being driven by new business. With major company's adding huge job numbers around the Front Range the unemployment rate is much lower than most of the other major cities around the United States. One more thing that Denver has going for it is the amount of publicity with its legalisation of Marijuana. Denver has now gained a large source of new business with Hundreds of "Pot Shops" already open for business and thousands of pending stores waiting for there applications to be approved. Regardless of your view on the subject of Pot it is something that is to large to ignore and does not look like it will be going away anytime soon.

Denver has also seen a huge gain with Music Artists of the pop culture. So many major bands have come from or been evolved from Denvers growing music industry it is staggering. Bands Such as The Fray and 3oh3 have been topping the charts at Billboard and the focus of popular recording studios (Blasting Room Ft Collins) for Bands such as Rise Against, Flobots, Floggin Molly and many others has been getting national attention.

With all of these things drawing crowds to Denver from around the country and the world it is obvious that Denver is going to be booming right out of the Down Economy. There are many places to verify this information on the Net but take it from a local and a Native, Denver is the place to live.
